Guildford

This report is from Guildford Christadelphians:

In December we once again provided a Christmas lunch for the homeless and those living in Shelters in Guildford.

We provided about 44 lunches of which 27 were served to those living on the streets  ( Guildford town has about 37 rough sleepers).Everyone enjoyed  a roast turkey lunch with all the trimmings and all joined in pulling crackers and wearing their party hats.A positive paradise of puddings followed all provided by the hard work of our members and their families which were quickly devoured.

To finish off after lunch our guests had the pick of a great selection of goodies to help them through the long winter days including gloves, socks, hats, scarves and tops as well as chocolates. On the day we had plenty of help from our church together with support from non members who generously gave both time and money to help support this activity.

We have also been able to provide, with the support of COG, rucksacks for the rough sleepers which the team are giving to the most needy with a starter pack (We are informed the quality of the bags was amazing)

Not only did everyone who helped or attended have a great day it allowed us all to show to others that being a follower of Christ should really make a difference to all of us and reflects the love that Christ has for the whole world.

In January we will start our regular curry evenings to help this group  cope with the long cold evenings.
