Wigan grant

Earlier this year we ran a pilot project called 'Bags of Love' and sent out sleeping bags and rucksacks to our churches across the UK.
This went well and we intend to roll this out as a long term ongoing project in the New Year - more on that then.
Meanwhile, here is the first of the reports from Alan at Wigan- more to follow very soon!
"I am pleased to report that our recent Bags of Love have been issued to two very grateful local charities –
(1) SWAP (Support for Wigan Arrivals Project supports asylum seekers and refugees who are living in the Wigan Borough).
These were recipients last year and chose to distribute to its clients by raffle at their Christmas party.
They intend to repeat this again this year and we hope to receive photographs in due course.
Our pic shows Brother Alan Leyland’s car boot full to capacity! Iranian visitors/members of Wigan ecclesia have benefited from the support offered by SWAP and still do.
(2) The Brick - It offers services to people who are homeless, in poverty or facing debt crisis.
As its name suggests, it provides a safe, solid building block for people in crisis to begin to rebuild their lives.
Pictures were published on their Facebook page.
Our picture shows Sis Bahareh Zareie and Bro. Nima Smieepour dropping off the bags at the Brick food shelter. "
