Chesterfield Food Bank
Rachel Slinn has been involved with
helping at the Food Bank for a number of years and put out a special appeal for
Easter. In total our members donated 54 Kg of food, toiletries and Easter
eggs which gave an additional boost to people struggling to cope in this cost
of living crisis.
Easter Craft Morning
The craft morning was advertised to
‘Parents WITH Children only’ and resulted in a terrific response with 14
children attending along with 8 parents/carers plus a three months old baby
girl!
The children and adults immersed themselves in the many activities which included cards, decorations and baking treats. It was lovely to chat to many new faces and also reconnect with one mother who used to attend our youth group over 20 years ago! Members of Chesterfield were ably supported by three others from Dronfield and Mansfield to make up 12 helpers.
Easter Service
Although no children attended (except for
a toddler!), two regular visitors and members of Dronfield and Mansfield joined
16 of our members to enjoy a lovely, uplifting service with presentations by
brothers from Chesterfield and Mansfield. Everyone (26 in total) enjoyed
the Easter themed refreshments at the end of the service.
Both these events were advertised in a local free magazine which is delivered in the area as well as banners placed at the hall.
